Illuminating what is special about a couple is the key to a successful wedding. These Southern Utah nuptials were filled with charm and style represented by the stunning couple Ashlee and Nick Chappell. The two are completely smitten with each other and it shined through in each detail of their perfect day.
Every couple has a unique story. One that is their own, and is near and dear to the heart of the bride and groom, as well as those who love them. A wedding that features the couple’s story throughout the evening is destined to be both incredibly stunning and personal in its own unique way. Ashlee and Nick were able to bring in elements of their story to share their love with each of their guests.
The two met at work and immediately caught each other’s eye. Each had a passion and and love for music. From that moment on the two were connected by song.
“We started making each other mix tapes and going to concerts together. But it wasn’t until about two years later that we actually started dating… One night we were at a concert together and somehow everything just kind of fell into place and I realized just how perfect Nick was for me,” Ashlee said of her handsome groom.
“He would be the first to say that it wasn’t his choice it took so long, but being friends for as long as we were made things that much easier when we dated. When I think of our relationship I can’t help but think of the quote “Love is Friendship set on Fire.”
And an undying inferno it was. When Ashlee and Nick finally got engaged the two knew that music had to play an important role in their wedding. Ashlee had a perfect vision for her quaint and classic back yard reception.
“I wanted it to be simple yet beautiful. When I pictured my wedding, I always dreamed of it as being, bright and fun, with my favorite music playing. Of course dancing, lots dancing had always been part of my dream.”
With that vision in mind the wedding planning took off. Ashlee wasn’t given a set budget, but she still wanted to be wise with her decisions. She decided to seek out vendors in southern utah that would ad to her vision.
A friend who happened to be a professional designer put together her invitations which were infused with bright colors and classic lace. The contrast showcased the elegance of their wedding with their fun and vibrant personalities.
Photography and the videographer were extremely important to Ashlee. She wanted someone personable who took amazing pictures. Ashlee quickly learned the value of choosing a photographer who knew and cared for her and her style.
“Mikki, of Captured Photography shot our wedding photography; she and her husband were great to work with. She was even kind enough to calm me down and ease the stress before the ceremony. She did a fantastic job of capturing every element of the wedding.”
The spring time in St George is absolutely amazing, and the beautifully lush setting of Ashley’s father’s backyard created a perfect setting for the two to showcase their story.
“Since music plays such a big role in our relationship, I was really excited to make cd’s for our guests to take as a party favor. Nick and I put together a bunch of songs that meant a lot to us as a couple. I loved the idea of sharing a little part of our relationship with the guests at the wedding. Because music is so important to us, spending a little extra seemed worth it. We created a CD cover ourselves and titled it “Songs for the Weekend.”
From the beginning of their friendship to their journey together as Mr. and Mrs. Chappell, these two created a musical story and style that is unique to them. With a little help from an incredible setting, tasty food, brilliant flowers, and outstanding photographs their story was brought to life in a perfect evening that will never be forgotten. As Ashlee said their love is friendship set on fire.
