YOU’RE ENGAGED! The whirlwind of planning a wedding is in full swing. Everything has to be perfect from your flowers, to the food, to your hair. You especially want to feel your best in that beautiful dress you’ve been dreaming of since you were a little girl. It’s easy to crash diet and exercise yourself into a frenzy leading up to your wedding day, unfortunately with few, if any, lasting results. Follow these tips to help look and feel your best on your wedding day and beyond.
EXERCISE. You will never successfully lose weight, or keep it weight off, without exercise. Just 30-45 minutes of vigorous cardiovascular exercise 5 days a week will make you the hottest bride in town. Dedicate two days (in addition to your cardio) a week for 20-30 minutes to basic strength training exercises to tone muscle.
PORTION CONTROL. Measure your serving sizes (the serving it gives on the box) and evaluate portion sizes. Small adjustments to the amount of food you eat can pay huge dividends on the scale. Remember to lose weight eat fewer calories than you burn.
SLEEP. Try to get 7-8 hours of sleep on most nights of the week. Your waistline will thank you!
MAKE IT A GROUP EFFORT. Set up a blog or Facebook page where you can chat with others about your workouts and your success. If you know that people are tracking your progress, you will be more likely to stick to the plan.
ENLIST THE HELP OF TECHNOLOGY. There are hundreds of mobile apps (Many which are FREE!) to help you track your calories and workouts. These apps can be well worth your time and investment. Google it and get started!
